This webinar will showcase how Emory University used adaptive learning tools in general chemistry courses. They used a web-based learning assistant called ALEKS that assessed each student’s current chemistry knowledge and delivered only the topics that each student was ready to learn. With this type of personalized instruction, educators at Emory were able to support flipped classrooms in summer preparatory classes as well as in regular semester courses. The webinar will discuss course design, student performance data, and student feedback. It will also provide tips and suggestions for faculty considering adaptive learning solutions.
