This webinar compares performance of several Carboxen® Synthetic Carbons against granular activated carbon (GAC). The Synthetic Carbons are part of the Supelco® line of commercially available carbon adsorbents. These adsorbents can be used for separation of volatile compounds in gas streams, for purification of air and permanent gases, and separation of dissolved molecules in liquid streams.
Increased kinetic saturation capacity is demonstrated vs competitive materials for volatile organic compounds such as dichloromethane, butane, pentane and vinyl-chloride. The superior performance in breakthrough analysis of dissolved organic molecules is demonstrated. Due to the in-situ regeneration potential of Carboxen® Synthetic Carbon, the process can be operated in closed loop adsorption-regeneration system. Such a system has much lower operating costs and reduces the need for adsorbents to be shipped off site for reactivation and or disposal.
