  • Overview

Terpenes (terpenoids) are an important class of volatile compounds responsible for the pungent aroma and taste of cannabis. Scientists have developed analytical methods to detect terpenes in cannabis and are using data analysis techniques to distinguish cultivars from one another. Terpene compositions can vary significantly from cultivar to cultivar, can be modified via a multitude of extraction practices, and can again be changed in final product formulations. This webinar will take a closer look at the analytical methods being used to detect and identify terpenes in cannabis and provide a perspective on the terpene compositions present in the diverse cannabis products seen in today’s state-licensed markets.
