  • Overview

The medical cannabis industry has been expanding rapidly with dozens of states now having legalized its medical use. Taking quality and safety seriously, these states are increasing their oversight and stressing the importance of analytical testing standards and guidelines. For example, under an act passed in 2017, mandatory product testing will begin in California this year.

But cannabis is chemically complex, can vary widely in terms of production and contaminants, and may be used in a variety of product types. All of these factors complicate the analytical processes needed to assure product quality and safety. This webinar will focus on the evolving environment for regulations and testing. It will explore in detail the contaminants that appear in cannabis products and how testing laboratories deploy various analytical techniques to detect and measure them.
