Environmental Health Perspectives has joined the ACS Publications portfolio — a premier journal in environmental health science, publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that substantially advance our understanding of environmental health.
The environmental health sciences encompass a broad range of disciplines, from bench science to observational research. We welcome original research articles and commentaries from across these fields, with a focus on their implications for human health, including experimental toxicology, epidemiology, exposure science, risk assessment, and more.
The primary aim of Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP) is to publish high-quality research, reviews, and commentaries that significantly deepen our understanding of environmental health science.

Environmental Health Perspectives is an open access journal publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that substantially increases our understanding of environmental health. All APCs will be waived for manuscripts submitted to the journal through the end of 2026.
MEET THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Joel D. Kaufman, Editor-in-Chief
Dr. Kaufman is a physician-epidemiologist, board-certified in internal medicine and occupational medicine. He has been a full-time faculty member at the University of Washington since 1997. He has mentored dozens of trainees, authored or co-authored more than 350 peer-reviewed original articles, and maintained a research portfolio that includes both epidemiological and experimental research funded primarily by NIH and the USEPA. He directs the University of Washington's Interdisciplinary Center for Exposures, Diseases, Genomics and Environment (EDGE Center). He maintains a primary care internal medicine practice and is an elected member of the US National Academy of Medicine.
