Polymer technology is a bedrock of modern life. The science underpinning synthetic polymerization has yielded amazing discoveries, applied to produce truly life- changing materials and technologies. The results continue to amaze. But there is a pressing need to develop future polymer-based technology in a sustainable manner, to encourage re-use, recycling and upcycling.

Polymer Science & Technology, a new open access polymer journal, will advance the frontiers of knowledge in polymers and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals by linking polymer research to the pressing needs of human society. This new journal of polymer science is an open access publishing partnership between Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and ACS Publications expanding ACS’ polymer science portfolio .
