Submissions Are Now Open

Advances in integrative techniques for studying and manipulating natural and artificial systems have led to an increasingly complex understanding of the world around us, but have also generated correspondingly difficult technological problems. Looking to nature as a source of inspiration and example is a broadly successful approach for creating unconventional but simple solutions to complex problems.

This special issue will highlight new biologically-inspired materials with advanced functionalities. Research communications and articles focused on biomimetic materials and nanomaterials development for tissue repair and regeneration, cancer treatment, immunotherapy, and medical imaging are all highly encouraged. Comprehensive or focused topical review articles aligned with the biomimetic materials theme that provide context for the integration of natural and artificial systems are also welcome.
